Bast Amron LLP, a boutique firm with a national practice in bankruptcy, corporate reorganization, and complex commercial litigation, is seeking a mid-level (3–7 years) associate to join our team.
The successful candidate will be cross-trained in all areas of the firm’s practice with an opportunity to take a lead role in complex cases. Significant bankruptcy or commercial litigation experience is required, and candidates with experience in both areas are preferred.
Key responsibilities:
Work closely with partners and other team members on complex business restructuring, reorganization, insolvency, and litigation matters.
Qualifications and requirements:
At least 3 years of experience in restructuring/reorganization and/or complex commercial litigation.
For candidates lacking bankruptcy/reorganization experience, a solid understanding of bankruptcy/reorganization is preferred, and an interest and eagerness to learn the bankruptcy/reorganization practice is required.
Strong research, writing, and oral advocacy skills are required.
Experience appearing in court, handling contested hearings, and/or taking and defending depositions is preferred. An interest and eagerness to appear in court, take and defend depositions, and be part of trial teams is required.
Must be licensed to practice law in Florida.
Candidates must be able to work in a sophisticated bankruptcy and litigation practice with a varied caseload, prioritize among competing demands for their time, and communicate professionally, effectively, and efficiently with clients and colleagues. Must possess excellent organizational skills and a keen eye for detail. Candidates must also be able to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and possess the self-discipline to work with minimal supervision – we will give you all the responsibility you can handle.
