Bankruptcy/ Commercial Litigation Paralegal Job Description

Bast Amron is seeking a Bankruptcy/Litigation Paralegal for our dynamic law firm.  This year, we celebrated our 11th year as a firm, and we have been recognized over the years for many achievements, including being named one of the Best Companies to Work For in South Florida three times and twice being named to the Inc. 5000 list of fastest going companies in America. As we plan for our next eleven years, we will need to add to our fantastic team of experienced paralegals who are heavily involved in our complex cases.  That is where you come in.  We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated and organized individual to join the Bast Amron team.

The prime candidates will have the following qualifications:

At least 5 years of law firm experience required.  BA/BS and/or paralegal certificate a plus. Experience with ECF filing, PACER, bankruptcy (Chapters 7 and 11) procedures (debtor, creditor, and trustee work), assignments for the benefit of creditors, adversary proceedings, state and federal court litigation, including discovery/tracking and meeting deadlines, contact with the courts, court reporters, scheduling hearings, E-Portal filing, etc.  Applicants should have a working knowledge of the Microsoft Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook, and ideally, have experience using BestCase, WorldDox, Westlaw, PracticeMaster, and e-discovery document review platforms, including Logikcull, Relativity, and other e-discovery platforms.

Candidates must be a self-starter, able to work with a high volume and varied caseload, and must be able to prioritize tasks and track billable time.  They must be able to effectively and efficiently communicate with clients, co-workers, opposing counsel, and court staff. They must further possess excellent typing and organizational skills, with a keen eye towards detail and ability to multi-task.  Candidates must also be able to work under pressure with numerous deadlines and must be disciplined and flexible to work in a remote environment with minimal supervision.
