BAST AMRON TRIAL TEAM PREVAILS IN SIX-DAY FEDERAL BENCH TRIAL

BAST AMRON TRIAL TEAM PREVAILS IN SIX-DAY FEDERAL BENCH TRIAL

September 8, 2025 by Maylynn

September 8th, 2025 - Posted in In The News, Peter J. Klock, II

MIAMI, FL – September 8, 2025 – Bast Amron LLP secured a complete victory following a six-day federal bench trial in the Southern District of Florida.

The litigation team was led by partner Peter Klock and supported by senior paralegal Maria Desvergunat, delivering a decisive result in a high-stakes shareholder dispute over ownership and joint venture interests.

In a 34-page order, the Court flatly rejected the plaintiffs claims of ownership of the company, finding they had failed to carry their burden of proof. The Court delved into explicit detail regarding the plaintiffs’ lack of credibility – highlighted by Klock’s compelling cross-examinations of the plaintiffs, and ultimately ruled against them on every issue.

The ruling not only represents a clear win for Bast Amron’s client and trial team but also provides a thoughtful discussion of corporate formalities under Florida law and underscores the importance of evidentiary credibility in shareholder and partnership disputes.

“This was a hard-fought case from start to finish,” said Klock. “We are gratified that the Court recognized the merits of our defense and issued such a decisive ruling.”

Bast Amron’s litigation team continues to be recognized for trial-tested advocacy in complex commercial disputes, including shareholder litigation, business torts, and fiduciary matters.
