Bast Amron LLP—a boutique firm with a national reputation in bankruptcy, restructuring, and complex commercial litigation—is seeking a mid-level (3–7 years) associate who thrives in a high-expectation environment and aligns with our firm’s Core Values: Commit. Collaborate. Create. Communicate. Care.
We don’t hire to fill seats. We hire people who take ownership, bring creative thinking to legal challenges, and demonstrate a genuine commitment to clients, colleagues, and community. At Bast Amron, you will never be boxed in—you will be cross-trained, invited into strategy, and given meaningful responsibility early and often. Additionally, we actively support and encourage our associates’ growth as professionals and business developers through hands-on training, guidance, and direct investment.
What You’ll Do
- Work side by side with partners and team members on sophisticated, high-stakes restructuring, insolvency, and litigation matters.
- Take an active role in developing case strategy, communicating with clients, and driving outcomes—not just executing tasks.
- Have responsibility for investigating claims and identifying supporting documents, preparing and arguing discovery and case-dispositive motions, taking and defending depositions, working directly with expert witnesses, and preparing for and taking cases to trial as part of trial teams.
Be part of a collaborative legal team that values preparation, thoughtful advocacy, and business-minded lawyering.
What We Expect
COMMIT – We expect full ownership. Clients’ problems become our problems. You follow through, take responsibility, and do what it takes to get it done—at 100% effort.
COLLABORATE – We operate as one team. You work seamlessly with partners, associates, paralegals, and clients without ego, and you welcome contribution from every level when it improves the work.
CREATE – We do not recycle answers. You think strategically, bring ideas to the table, and aren’t afraid to develop non-traditional solutions when challenged by the law or facts.
COMMUNICATE – You communicate professionally, clearly, and efficiently—with clients, the court, and internal teams. You don’t wait to be chased for status—you anticipate needs and keep the team informed.
CARE – Our “Care Factor” is non-negotiable. You take pride in your work, prepare like it matters (because it does), and you genuinely care about outcomes, relationships, and the firm’s reputation.
Qualifications
- 3–7 years of experience in restructuring/reorganization and/or complex commercial litigation.
- Bankruptcy/reorganization experience strongly preferred. If not, you must have a demonstrated understanding and genuine interest in learning.
- Proven research, writing, and oral advocacy skills, with readiness to appear in court, handle contested hearings, and participate in depositions and trial prep.
- Licensed to practice in Florida.
- Able to manage a varied caseload, prioritize independently, and perform under pressure and deadlines without constant supervision.
Organized, detail-focused, and self-directed—we give responsibility to those who earn it, and at Bast Amron, there is plenty to take.
Who Thrives Here
