Clay Klein is a bankruptcy attorney whose practice focuses on complex bankruptcy matters and related litigation. Clay has experience in Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 proceedings, adversary proceedings, and contested matters involving fiduciary duties, fraudulent transfers, stay relief, claim objections, asset sales, and other bankruptcy-related disputes.

Before joining Bast Amron, Clay served as a Judicial Term Law Clerk to the Honorable Peter D. Russin of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Florida. During his clerkship, Clay worked on sophisticated bankruptcy matters involving distressed businesses, complex restructurings, and cross-border insolvency proceedings. He drafted bench rulings and dispositive orders, prepared detailed bench memoranda for evidentiary hearings and trials, and analyzed summary judgment motions and other contested matters.

Prior to his judicial clerkship, Clay worked as a Bankruptcy Law Clerk and Summer Associate at Rountree Leitman Klein & Geer, LLC in Atlanta, where he gained experience in Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 matters and related litigation. His work included adversary proceedings, dispositive motions, first- day motions, and issues involving bankruptcy eligibility, dischargeability, lien priority disputes and real estate litigation.

Clay earned his J.D. from Emory University School of Law, where he served as notes and Comments Editor of the Emory Bankruptcy Developments Journal. He earned his bachelor's degree in Cognitive Science from the University of Virginia.
