The Friday Whine BY BRIAN L. TANNEBAUM February 2, 2018

Greetings, The Friday Whine is a casual email to friends and colleagues and contains three things: An ethics update, a legal profession update, and wine recommendation. If you see text in blue, it is a link to an article or information.

NOTE: Groundhog saw his shadow. Six more weeks of winter.

Ethics

This Guy’s Getting Disbarred

Providence lawyer Robert McNelis told the police his trust account checks were stolen and some were cashed. Actually, though he asked someone to cash them for him. Police concluded their investigation by arresting McNelis, in the courthouse.

Legal Profession

The Miami Connection To The Nunes Memo

Kash Patel has had a fascinating career, which included a stint in my old office building as an Assistant Federal Public Defender. He’s a co-author of the soon-to-be-released “Nunes Memo.” Who knew?

Wine

The Super Bowl

Two things you don’t want to do during the Super Bowl; look for a corkscrew, or get up to go pop corks.

The screw top is the way to go here. Get some Meomi Pinot Noir and Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc. Both available by the truckload at Total Wine.

There you go. One red, one white. Everyone will love them, and you can watch the game.
