MIAMI, FL – June 1, 2026 – Bast Amron Partner Scott Brown will moderate the Chapter 7 Practice Panel at the 2026 Bankruptcy Skills Workshop-Hybrid Program on Friday, June 5, 2026, by the University of Miami School of Law.
This panel will discuss best practices for understanding your client and preparing a case for filing. Topics will include conducting appropriate due diligence, identifying potential issues related to unique ownership interests and exemptions, and addressing post-filing concerns raised by the US Trustee.
The BANKRUPTCY SKILLS WORKSHOP presents useful basics on consumer bankruptcy practice in the Southern District of Florida.
All proceeds from the Workshop will benefit the Louis Phillips Scholarship Endowment Fund at the University of Miami School of Law.

The program focuses on where the practice of consumer bankruptcy is going and more complex issues that arise.

Panelists will share recent developments, common issues that arise in Chapter 7 cases, and strategic practice pointers to help practitioners effectively navigate the process for debtors, creditors, and trustees.
